The Transfer Certificate (TC) is one of the most uniquely Indian aspects of school administration. A student transferring from another school must present their TC before enrollment can be completed — and schools must maintain records of TCs received and issued. This is a regulatory requirement, not a nice-to-have.
Yet in most schools, TC verification is a manual process: the admissions officer checks the physical document, makes a copy, and files it. There's no system tracking which TCs have been received, which students required one (Class 1 students typically don't), or when one was issued to an outgoing student.
What a Digital TC Workflow Looks Like
In Infovion, TC validation is built into the admission flow. For Class 1 admissions, the TC requirement is automatically skipped. For Class 2 and above, the system enforces TC capture before completing enrollment. This means no student can be enrolled without the compliance step being acknowledged.
For outgoing students, TC generation is built in: parents apply online, the principal approves the request, and the office issues a one-page TC in the school's own format — CBSE-style English, the Maharashtra Leaving Certificate in Marathi, or Hindi — filled from the student record. The student then moves to the former-students list automatically, with every certificate kept in a register.
